It is the year 3024, Science in today’s world has developed far beyond anyone’s imagination. I still remember the incident which unfolded 20 years ago and brought such change in today’s world. There was an energy crisis, the amount of fossil fuels were getting low day by day. We, humans, needed something to sustain our lives. I was with the “Antinium '' research group, we were researching the Antinium crystal which has energy stored in abundance inside, enough that it can serve the entire world for the next thousand years. We came across an antique-looking book that said that there was once a creature known as Xumi; who was a dragon shape-shifter. He used to wear earrings made out of Antinium.
Therefore, our research group decided to travel back in time. We made a machine that could mentally transcend us back in time while physically being in the present world. But there were limits to what we could do.
Us dying there in an unknown land, meant our physical body dying in the present world. Five people were assigned to go to the land of Fevoneous.
In the book, it was written that Antinium was very precious and it is the core of Xumi’s energy.
My body shivered as I entered the cold chamber to travel back in time. I wore the timing gear and gradually lost my consciousness as haziness surrounded me inside the chamber. When I wore the time gear, it felt like someone wanted to suck my whole body from head to toe by force. Time gear was a device situated on my head that looked a lot like a helmet. We were inside the chamber and if we wanted to pick up something it would scan and make a transfer of it to the world back in our time. The plan was to steal the earrings of Xumi without harming anyone there.
The last thing my eyes saw was the clock on the wall, it said five, the time had come and we had to leave.
The landing was disrupted, my hand got twisted but I was numb to the pain after some time. For a moment, I almost forgot about the pain when I looked around me. Everything was beautiful and vivid, it felt real. I fell in love with the land of Fevoneous.
Without wasting time, we started our search for Xumi. We found him sooner than we had anticipated, it took us four days to find him. When we spotted Xumi he was giving his earrings to a girl named Suyeon, these two were the most known couple of the time in the land of Fevoneous.
Xumi was a dragon shapeshifter while Suyeon was a normal human girl with an ordinary life span. We decided to put a hold on our plan for two-three days to notice their activities.
I was on my way to take a bath in the river nearby when I suddenly spotted Xumi inside the river. I was really scared, I was hiding behind a tree and suddenly my hand touched the dried leaves near me. Xumi noticed the noise, out of fear I started running to save my life, he came in front of me in an instant, I fell to the ground. He was surprised by my behaviour.
He noticed that my hand was swollen and my legs were a little wounded. He said something and I could not make sense of what he said. Then he put his hand over me and in an instant, they were healed. I tried to talk to him but he went away without saying a single word. At that moment I realised that we were all focused on our mission and we didn’t sustain our environment, we just kept exploiting resources without thinking about the consequences of how we would recover them.
When I returned to our camp, it was empty. I thought they might be assigned somewhere for their task so I didn’t search for them. They came in very late but it was just three of them, one was missing. I asked them about his whereabouts, they said “he went away on his own without an explanation”. Even after two days, that guy was missing. I went near the river again in the hope to see Xumi again. I saw no one but the beautiful unicorns playing in the water. I returned to camp, where I saw they had tied Suyeon under a tree. I was shocked, so I started running towards them. As I got near them I asked them why they had tied Suyeon. They were acting unusual, it seemed like someone was controlling them. While processing all of these things, a ray of flashy light struck us. Everything near the camp was destroyed. I was able to see the anger on Xumi’s face.
The surroundings near me had an eerie vibe to it. One look at his face and It felt like everything was going to get destroyed. Xumi turned his angry gaze towards those three men, he flew towards them, grabbed one of them by his neck and took him up to the sky. I could see nothing because the sun was very bright, the only thing which I could notice was the flashy light and smoke. In the blink of an eye, Xumi was near me destroying the ropes that had Suyeon tied up. Suddenly, a ray of black light came towards us, Xumi pushed me and he took the damage. I was scared and trying to process whatever was uncovering in front of me. The face of the two men turned black and there was no skin restored to their face. Xumi began fighting with them. It was a miraculous fight, I couldn’t believe my eyes for what I had seen.
Everything was so fast that my eyes couldn’t keep track. All I could notice were just flashes of blue, yellow and blacklight jumping from ground to sky. Suddenly everything stopped, Xumi was lying down on the ground wounded and the two men were coming towards him. It felt like this was the end of everything but all of a sudden Suyeon ran towards Xumi and tossed the earrings towards him. Xumi jumped with all the energy that was left in him to catch the earrings.
The two men also ran towards the earrings. It was a very intense moment, anything could have happened but Somehow Xumi got it. As soon as he caught the earrings there was a massive thunder strike near Xumi throwing the two men far away. He was all healed, it was like nothing had happened to him. He flew towards those guys and just by a snap of his finger they both disappeared like ashes. Xumi looked back towards Suyeon and started running towards her.
They kissed each other. The aura of the forest had suddenly changed. It was like the forest was happy again, everything was fine. We went to Xumi’s place. It was the first time he talked to me. I had various questions. I asked him why he killed four of his members. Xumi answered that he didn’t kill his fourth member, the three of them killed him because he was opposing them and the three of them were under the control of Wuhan spirit which is a dark evil spirit that eats upon souls of humans and takes control over them.
He said I was lucky that I was not with them on the day I met Xumi. He asked me what I was doing in their world, where I had come from.
I told him everything from the beginning. He smiled at me and gave me one of his earrings and said that it would be better if one of the earrings were with me. He gave it away because he thought it would be good if his powers were used for good things and for saving the people of my world.
This is the story of how I brought Antinium with me to our world, which helped us to create a whole new world on a different level. It did not just take our scientific abilities to another level but also brought the concept of magic.
This journey didn't only teach me the morals of life but also showed me the power of love, how love can motivate and push you to an extent to do incredible and unimaginable things which you didn’t know you were capable of.
This was the journey that made me who I am and I wish everyone and the upcoming generations to believe in themselves and the power of love.
